Renewable energy is becoming an increasingly important energy source. Renewable energy sources include wind, wave, tidal, hydro and solar power among the others. Tidal power has a significant advantage over most of the others in that, it is predictable. Due to the link with the lunar cycle the tidal currents can be predicted years in advance. There are reasons to believe that tidal power will be a significant part of the renewable energy mix.
