The Engineering Team  is looking for the best Graduates to join our team who are willing to learn and work in a very dynamic environment contributing to the long term success of the company and the tidal industry. Preferably you have an electrical background especially with regards to HV applications. The job of Graduate HV simulation engineer will include:

  • Modelling and simulation of the complete electrical set-up of the complete tidal turbine system including harmonics and fault analysis and input to the protection concept
  • Investigation of operating sequences and transient system studies with input to the controller development
  • Co-development of an integrated system model encompassing mechanical and electrical components
  • Analysis and optimisation of system layout for tidal turbine arrays with input to the specification of high voltage equipment
  • Development of application software for the optimisation of system parameters for a tidal turbine array environment
  • Integration of the electrical systems into the turbine controller
  • Participation in FAT and dynamic testing

 

The profile of the successful candidate preferably encompasses:

  • MSc or PhD in an electrical specialisation
  • Experienced with general modelling software such as i.e. Matlab/Simulink

The successful candidate will be required to travel both within the UK and internationally.
