Hammerfest Strøm has developed one of the world’s most advanced power generation systems, by combining the experiences from subsea installations, hydropower and wind power. From the long experience from subsea installations in the North and the Barents Sea, Norway has become one of the world leaders in the area. About 99% of the power generation in the country is generated from hydropower and several wind farms are being developed. This experience has been significant in the development of Hammerfest Strøms technology.
Hammerfest Strøm aims to develop cost effective technology, maximizing energy production while operating with a maintenance interval of several years. While working towards commercialization of the technology, the company continues to invest in R&D work to establish the next generation of this technology.

 HS1000
Hammerfest Strøm has completed the design phase of the 1MW pre commercial unit (HS1000™) designed for installation at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), and is now in the bid phase.
