Hammerfest Strøm presents the name of the 1 MW full-scale demonstration model as HS1000™.

The name describes the turbines effect and origin. HS1000™ consists of the initial letters to the company (HS), and the installed power is 1000 KW (1 MW).

The intenton is to install HS1000™ in Scottish wates early 2010. The turbine will then go through a test period period. The further intention is to deliver the world first tidal power plant to the energygiant ScottishPower Renewables in 2011.
