In 2003 the company installed a prototype of a future power plant. The prototype, called HS300, delivered electricity to the commercial energy net for almost 4 years before it was removed from service for major inspection. The turbine was reinstalled after the inspection, and is now going through a trail period.

Hammerfest Strøm AS develop and design tidal power plants which is delivered to the commercial global energy market through 100 % owned subsidiary companies.

In 2008 a 100 % owned subsidiary company was established in UK. The subsidiary company licenses the technology from the parent company and is delivering turn-key power plants to the British energy market.
